Looking Forward

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Heb 13:14 NLT

Word of the day for me is GRACE

Divine grace, unearned favors received from God.

Acts 20:24
However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace.

As we go about our day with our kids, co-workers, friends/family and even the unknown person on the road who's driving in a unsafe manner. We find ourselves wanting to give our own heartfelt punishment that we feel fits the crime, yes? For some, the punishment might be the raise of the voice while others go into fits of rage and act out.

I am one who lets things go in and then build. I let that pot stew for days/weeks and sometimes months depending what I am cooking. Some things come to the surface quicker then others but for the most part I am a stewer ....not a proud one either. Just in case your wondering I am not stewing now :)

I bring up Grace because it can be applied to many areas of our life. The one that stands out above all is in our finances. Money owed out and monies owed us. It reminds me of the story about the man who owed money to the king. I'm sure you remember the story and if not it can be found in Matthew 18....the whole chapter is worth reading . ;)

Anyway the part I love about this passage is this Quote " 26"The servant fell on his knees before him. 'Be patient with me,' he begged, 'and I will pay back everything.' 27The servant's master took pity on him, canceled the debt and let him go." Does that not tell a story. How often can we say we lost our patients? WOW.

28"But when that servant went out, he found one of his fellow servants who owed him a hundred denarii.[h] He grabbed him and began to choke him. 'Pay back what you owe me!' he demanded.

29"His fellow servant fell to his knees and begged him, 'Be patient with me, and I will pay you back.'

30"But he refused. Instead, he went off and had the man thrown into prison until he could pay the debt. 31When the other servants saw what had happened, they were greatly distressed and went and told their master everything that had happened.

32"Then the master called the servant in. 'You wicked servant,' he said, 'I canceled all that debt of yours because you begged me to. 33Shouldn't you have had mercy on your fellow servant just as I had on you?' 34In anger his master turned him over to the jailers to be tortured, until he should pay back all he owed.

We have received grace, we need to learn how to give MORE grace and last of all be patient.

When we take thing into our own hands we forget why God exist.

35"This is how my heavenly Father will treat each of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart."

I pray each of you have a blessed day.

I LOVE you all!

Deb
