Looking Forward

For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come. Heb 13:14 NLT

Every day changes in life, do you happen to notice

Here it is 2:30 am Monday and I can NOT sleep again. I have no clue as to why, I mean there is nothing weighing heavy on my mind or worries for that matter. I had a wonderful weekend. Sabbath was just plain AWESOME. There is never a day that goes by that can't be described as awesome when you get a direct message from God during a much needed sermon. So much so that it could and was questioned whether or not I had brought the issue at hand right to Pastor Ben. I didn't have to, God was going to answer this one through Pastor Ben and by George we were going to listen. It came through loud and clear. The message....James 4:1-12.

James 4
Pride Promotes Strife
1 Where do wars and fights come from among you? Do they not come from your desires for pleasure that war in your members? 2 You lust and do not have. You murder and covet and cannot obtain. You fight and war. Yet[a] you do not have because you do not ask. 3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask amiss, that you may spend it on your pleasures. 4 Adulterers and[b] adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is enmity with God? Whoever therefore wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God. 5 Or do you think that the Scripture says in vain, “The Spirit who dwells in us yearns jealously”?
6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says:

“ God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”[c]
Humility Cures Worldliness

7 Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. 9 Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. 10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
Do Not Judge a Brother

11 Do not speak evil of one another, brethren. He who speaks evil of a brother and judges his brother, speaks evil of the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge. 12 There is one Lawgiver,[d] who is able to save and to destroy. Who[e] are you to judge another?[

This was a MUCH needed message, received well and understood. Now to make it stick to our heart and soul should we need to reflect back on it during the days ahead. Slap a sticky note to our forehead just in case. :-)

We went to Mindies and Jasons Sunday afternoon. I swear that everytime I see their kids they have changed even more. Each one being their own person with their own personality which all vary to some degree with them. You would think that they would all be the same as they are all so close to one another still, and if I were a betting person I would say that it would be very difficult to bring division in these kids. God sure has blessed Jason and Mindie with the making of GREAT parents....none of the kids lack in anything. I did notice a change tho in their youngest. Beaner went from the baby to a very cute young girl. She talks a storm and she no longer needs to be treated like a baby, after all she is 1 already and VERY close to being a big girl 2. I just Love this age on kids. They want to be all grown up and to look at them its a funny thought at how a kid of any age responds to your questions or comments. They are SO literal. The innocence they portray is so real and all I want to do is capture it in a bottle and save it or pray they never out grow that part of life. Alexis has gone from wanting to play with the boys to playing with the girls and she got to experience for the first time someone wanting only her even before her own mommy for a short time. Beaner clung to Alexis and it was so cute. Alexis got to see what she does to me at times. She too LOVED that feeling of being the comforter. Alexis can learn a lot from Mindie when it comes to Mothering, she has done and is doing a FINE job.

Well today will be busy. I need to do some laundry, tons of it today and then take Alexis to get her spacers on. I pray everyone has a blessed day.

Love ya tons!

Deb
